What You Will Do:

• Legal Expertise: You are responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the organization. This includes providing legal advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, conducting legal research, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Contract & Corporate Law: You play a key role in contract management, including drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various commercial agreements. 
• Data Protection: You provide advice on general data protection matters (e.g., customer inquiries) and support & coordinate international data protection efforts.
• Competition Law: You ensure that the organization’s practices comply with competition laws, promote fair business practices, and protect the organization's interests.
• Insurance Oversight: You monitor all insurance-related matters within the Group Holding. This includes assessing insurance coverage, managing claims, and closely collaborating with insurance providers to mitigate risks and protect the organization’s assets.
• Regulatory Updates: You will inform stakeholders about all relevant regulatory changes and directives applicable to the company. This ensures that the organization remains compliant with evolving legal requirements and can adapt its policies and procedures accordingly.
• AI Utilization: Given the increasing importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in the legal field, you are expected to leverage AI tools and technologies for legal analysis and decision-making. This may involve using anonymized data and adopting innovative approaches to streamline legal processes.




Additional Information:

• Employment Law: The company seeks external legal advice for employment law matters, so this role is not primarily focused on this area.
• International Law: The company relies on external law firms specializing in international law for related matters.
• Reporting Line: This role reports directly to the Chief of Staff. A Legal Counsel from another location reports to this position.

Preferred Background:

• Education & Qualifications: A university degree in law is required. Additional qualifications in relevant legal fields such as contract law, data protection, corporate law, or competition law are desirable
• Experience: Several years of experience as a Legal Counsel, preferably in a corporate environment. Experience in contract negotiations, M&A, and competition law is an advantage.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, a business-oriented approach, and excellent communication skills with various (international) stakeholders.
• Innovation & AI: Our openness towards using AI also applies to legal, so any initial experience with AI-based legal tools is highly appreciated.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential since it is the working language. Fluent German would be considered an advantage.
