Cologne, DE · 2006A garage in Cologne. Two brothers. One idea.
Daniel and Philipp founded Picanova in a garage in the south of Cologne. What began as a custom-printing experiment became, two decades later, one of Europe's largest customization companies — the first orders shipping from a single printer.
Cologne, DE · New HQThe garage gets too small.
A move into a modern headquarters on Hohenzollernring in Cologne — room to expand and build a real team. That office has grown and evolved ever since, and today it's the bustling working home of 100+ people.
Miami, US · 2010Across the Atlantic.
The first US facility opens in Miami. It grows into a 7,000m² site serving the US East Coast, the Midwest and Eastern Canada — up to 200 people at peak season — and serves us well right up to its 2025 relocation.
Riga, LV · 2012Crossing borders.
A production facility opens in Riga to craft the wooden frames behind our canvases, alongside a new office in the city. Owning the frame supply keeps quality and consistency firmly in our own hands.
Ehrenfeld, Cologne · 2014Ten thousand square metres.
A state-of-the-art facility opens in Ehrenfeld, Cologne — over 10,000m² turning out thousands of one-of-a-kind products every day. It anchored our European production until output was concentrated into Szczecin in 2023.
Global market leader · 2015World market leader in our category.
Picanova is listed for the first time in the Encyclopaedia of Germany's Global Market Leaders — recognition as a leader in individual wall decoration and the photo canvas. Nine years after the garage, and already planning the next continent.
Phoenix, US · 2019Onto the West Coast.
A production site opens in Phoenix — 2,000m² at launch, expanded to 5,100m² by 2021. It serves the entire West Coast, the western states of the US, and Western Canada.
Szczecin, PL · 2021Poland scales up.
Years of manufacturing in Szczecin meet surging demand with a major expansion — the Polish facility now runs 15,000m² of production space, supplying our shops across Europe and even further afield.
The Customization Group · 2023A new name for what we'd become.
The Customization Group is born — a name that reflects how far the company's services and offerings had grown over the years. One company, one mission, many shops.
Chișinău, MD · IT ParkMoldova, in the heart of the city.
First opened in 2018, our Chișinău presence outgrows two homes before landing inside IT Park in 2023. It's a hub for technical support — and one of the strongest sources of new talent joining the global team.
Dubai, AE · 2025Into the Gulf.
A new office opens in Dubai, in the Al Salam Tower in Dubai Internet City. As the home of our Global POD team, it connects us with partners across the region and Asia and scales personalized commerce on a global level.
Bitterfeld-Wolfen, DE · ORWOA 1909 icon joins.
In July 2025, ORWO — one of Germany's most iconic photo brands, with roots dating back to 1909 — joins TCG. Its Bitterfeld-Wolfen site becomes a European centre for photo-lab excellence, pairing decades of tradition with our AI-driven infrastructure.
Columbus, Ohio · 2025Ohio comes online.
A brand-new production facility opens in Columbus, Ohio. In the heart of the Midwest, it strengthens how we serve central and eastern North America — built for scalability, modern workflows and operational efficiency.
Ho Chi Minh, VN · 2025Asia, meet TCG.
We plant a flag in Ho Chi Minh. The city reflects the fast-growing appetite for mass-customized products, and its young, driven talent pool matches our ambition to serve more customers around the globe.
Munich, DE · 2025Personalized gifting, added.
TCG acquires sendmoments, a Munich specialist in personalized cards, photo products and event stationery. The brand continues independently within the portfolio, deepening our gifting expertise and fuelling the next stage of growth.
