Product Specialist
About us
The Customization Group is a global leader in mass customization and print-on-demand e-commerce. We manufacture up to 2.5 million unique, personalised products every day across production sites in Germany, Poland, the USA and Latvia. Millions of customers find us through our 20+ online shops and 1,000+ partner stores. Our 750+ team members come from 40+ nationalities and work at the intersection of manufacturing, e-commerce and AI.
The role
You are the operational backbone of our product execution.
In a nutshell: you make sure product-related operations across systems, shops and functions run reliably and consistently, and you are where product integrity is protected in practice.
You resolve issues, coordinate cross-functional fixes, ensure products are correctly configured, and enable our sales and B2B teams with accurate product knowledge. The role translates product requirements and commercial needs into operational clarity. It connects Product with Operations, IT, Procurement, Production, Quality and Sales.
The role is detail-driven and hands-on, and combines day-to-day execution with process improvement. You report directly to the Head of Product and work alongside our Product Manager. The launch of our new product information management system is the largest project in this area this year.
What you will own
→Product setup and configuration consistency across our systems, Picturator, PCS, PIM and ERP, with error-free setups and smooth launches as the standard.
→SKU creation and the transfer of product data between systems, including this year's PIM migration.
→Resolving product-related issues across Customer Support, Production, IT, Quality, Shop Management and Procurement, with root causes documented so the same issue does not return.
→Coordinating cross-functional fixes and follow-ups, tracked transparently through to closure.
→Enabling our Sales, Key Account and B2B teams with accurate product knowledge, so what is promised to customers is what we can deliver.
→Assessing the feasibility of special customer requests together with Procurement, Production and Quality, including the operational and margin implications.
→Safeguarding operational product quality: reducing claims, rework and refunds by catching problems before they reach production.
→Test orders and product specifications: placing, verifying and documenting before anything goes live.
→Product documentation and knowledge repositories, specifications, print files and how-to guides, maintained as the single source of truth.
→Reducing recurring manual work through documentation, self-service and automation.
What you bring
→One to three years in an operational, analytical or coordination role. Product management experience is not a requirement, the industry can be learned on the job.
→Problem solving: you can break a complex cross-functional issue down into manageable parts.
→Systems thinking: you understand how systems and workflows interact, and where they tend to fail.
→Conscientiousness and precision. Setup errors surface downstream as reprints and claims.
→Communication: you can translate a technical constraint into guidance a stakeholder can act on.
→Critical thinking: you weigh feasibility, risk and trade-offs before implementing.
→Strong written English. Coordination runs across Latvia, Poland, Germany, the US and Vietnam, mostly in writing.
→Confidence with spreadsheets and business systems, and the patience to work in several at once.
→Adaptability when priorities shift, and the initiative to raise structural problems rather than work around them.
Nice to have
→A technical or automation background: scripting, advanced Excel, no-code tools, SQL, APIs.
→Knowledge of workflow automation and process optimisation tools.
→Experience with ERP or shop system environments.
→Understanding of production or print processes.
→Exposure to B2B customisation environments, and a basic understanding of margin logic.
→AI tools already part of how you work.
→German, Latvian or Polish.
Development perspective
This role is an entry point into product management within a small, growing team. As you build system and product knowledge, the scope extends towards owning individual products and product areas in your own right. We support that development actively.
What success looks like
// 3 months
Products you set up go live correctly and without rework.
// 6 months
Recurring issues have documentation behind them, incoming request volume is measurably lower, and escalations have dropped.
// 12 months
Claims and rework attributable to product setup are down, and you own product areas in your own right.
Sounds like you?
→You are the person who documents the root cause so the same issue does not come back.
→You are comfortable holding several systems open at once and keeping every setup precise.
→You want a path that grows into product ownership over time.
Probably not a fit if
→You prefer one system and one routine to juggling several at once.
→You would rather work around a structural problem than raise it and fix the root cause.
→Detail and precision feel like a chore rather than the point of the work.
What we offer
A competitive salary and bonus, plus a benefits package that includes:
→International experience across our globally spread teams.
→Private health insurance with a compensation package after the probation period.
→Additional leave on special occasions.
→A variety of packed breakfast, lunch and snacks in the office.
→Valuable knowledge and excellent experience for your future development.
→Connection with your colleagues through team building and company events.
