Senior CRM Specialist,
Lifecycle Automations
About us
The Customization Group is a global leader in mass customization and print-on-demand e-commerce. We manufacture up to 2.5 million unique, personalised products every day across production sites in Germany, Poland, the USA and Latvia. Millions of customers find us through our 20+ online shops and 1,000+ partner stores. Our 750+ team members come from 40+ nationalities and work at the intersection of manufacturing, e-commerce and AI.
The role
You own the CRM programs that run without anyone pressing send, and the channels that sit alongside email: automations across the whole brand portfolio, SMS and WhatsApp, and the offers that go into them.
We run CRM across a portfolio of e-commerce brands in multiple markets. Two things sit in this role. The first is the automation estate: welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, reactivation, win-back and transactional journeys, across every shop. The second is SMS and WhatsApp, the two channels we run next to email, from the flows and the campaign calendar to the offer that goes in them and the page they land on.
In a nutshell: this is a build-and-own seat, not an execution seat. You decide what a channel is for, you make the case with numbers, and you carry the ROI on it. AI is central to how that gets done here, not an optional extra.
What you will do
Own lifecycle automations across the portfolio
Welcome, abandonment, post-purchase, reactivation, win-back, transactional and messaging autojourneys. Logic, triggers, segmentation, content blocks and fallbacks. When a proven automation works in one shop, you are the person who rolls it out to the rest.
Run SMS and WhatsApp
Automated flows and ad-hoc campaigns on both channels: calendar, targeting, segmentation and creative. You shape it together with CRM leadership and our partner teams, and you build the playbook that makes a channel work in a new market rather than just switching it on there.
Own the ROI on your channels
SMS and WhatsApp both cost real money per message, so the commercial call sits with you. Campaign volume, send frequency, segment selection and offer depth get weighed against contribution margin, not revenue alone. You will not set the channel budget, but you plan against it, you defend your calls, and you say when a send is not worth making.
Plan the deals and set the discount depth
Which products go into an offer, how deep the discount goes, what it is anchored against, and which segment sees which version. This is one of the biggest levers on the numbers and a core part of the job, not an afterthought to the send. You work the deal plan forward across the calendar, test depth and mechanic rather than repeating last year's, and you know what a discount does to margin before it goes out.
Build the landing pages your campaigns run to
A campaign is only as good as the page behind it. You build and iterate the landing pages for your sends and sign-up flows, keep the offer consistent from message to page to cart, and test layout, offer presentation and product selection the same way you test the message itself.
Grow the subscriber base
List growth is a KPI in its own right: sign-up unit placement and design, on-site and post-purchase capture, welcome offer testing, and the trade-off between how fast a list grows and how profitable those subscribers turn out to be. Sign-up tactics get tested and improved, not set once and forgotten.
Build omnichannel campaign strategy
Decide how email, SMS and WhatsApp combine into one coherent customer experience: sequencing, channel roles, contact pressure, suppression and hold-out logic. Before we open a channel in a new market, you help work out what it is actually for, then you own the execution.
Be your own analyst
You get access to the data you need and the AI tooling to work with it. Own the KPIs for your channels, design and read your own tests, and turn results into the next round of improvements. You will not be waiting on someone else to build you a report.
Use AI to do more than one person can
Claude, ChatGPT, platform-native AI features and our internal tooling are how work gets done here, across content production, campaign ops, deal analysis and reporting. We expect you to build with them: agents and workflows that take the repetitive work off your plate, prompts and processes the rest of the team can reuse, and an honest read on where AI actually helps and where it does not. This is a company-wide priority set by our founders.
Keep the setup documented and maintainable
Active automations documented, naming and tracking conventions respected, backup campaigns in place. Someone else should be able to pick up your flow and understand it.
What we need
→Typically 4+ years in CRM, lifecycle or retention marketing, with hands-on ownership of automated journeys and of at least one messaging channel alongside email. Built and run by you, not email with an SMS step attached.
→Deep, practical command of a marketing automation platform (Emarsys, Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, CleverTap or similar). Journeys, triggers, segments, personalization and data fields, built by you.
→Working experience with an SMS and WhatsApp messaging platform (Attentive, Klaviyo, Twilio-based or similar), including subscriber acquisition and list growth, consent handling, template approval and deliverability basics.
→Offer and discount experience. You have planned deals, set discount depth, and understood what each of those decisions did to margin. Voucher and coupon mechanics at scale (pools, unique codes, redemption tracking) are a strong plus.
→Landing page and CMS work supporting campaign and sign-up flows. You build or brief the page, not just the message.
→Strong analytical skills, with AI in the loop. Comfortable in BI dashboards, GA4 and spreadsheets. You design a clean A/B test, know what a hold-out is for and when to run one, read a confidence interval rather than a headline percentage, and can tell an underpowered result from a real one. You use AI to get through the analysis faster and you know where it needs checking.
→Hands-on, demonstrable use of AI tools in your actual workflow across content, campaign ops and analysis. We will ask for built-and-shipped examples, and what you tried that did not work is as interesting to us as what did.
→Commercial judgment. You think in ROI and contribution margin, not just revenue and open rates.
→Omnichannel thinking. Evidence that you have coordinated more than one channel toward the same goal and managed the trade-offs: overlap, fatigue, suppression, attribution.
→Solid grasp of marketing consent and compliance across the markets you send in. GDPR and ePrivacy in Europe, TCPA and state-level rules in the US, CASL in Canada, and the equivalents elsewhere. Comfortable working with legal to open a channel in a new market properly rather than retrofitting consent later.
→Collaborative by default. These channels are run together with CRM leadership and external partner teams. You align before you build and share ownership of results.
→Working-level English for a globally distributed team. One of the languages of the markets we operate in (German, French, Spanish and others) is a plus, not a requirement.
What we offer
A competitive salary and bonus, plus a benefits package that includes:
→International experience across our globally spread teams.
→Private health insurance with a compensation package after the probation period.
→Additional leave on special occasions.
→A variety of packed breakfast, lunch and snacks in the office.
→Valuable knowledge and excellent experience for your future development.
→Connection with your colleagues through team building and company events.
