About us
The Customization Group is a global leader in mass customization and print-on-demand e-commerce. We manufacture up to 2.5 million unique, personalised products every day across production sites in Germany, Poland, the USA and Latvia. Millions of customers find us through our 20+ online shops and 1,000+ partner stores. Our 750+ team members come from 40+ nationalities and work at the intersection of manufacturing, e-commerce and AI.
The role
You own a defined portfolio of products end to end: commercially, operationally and in the shop.
In a nutshell: you build the business case, defend it, and act when the numbers move. You decide within an agreed commercial frame and are accountable for the results of your portfolio.
You report directly to the Head of Product and work alongside our existing Product Manager, each of you responsible for your own portfolio. The scope is broad. Rather than managing a single category or print process, you are responsible for a wide range of products across several brands and shops, from business case and positioning through launch, pricing and performance in the shop.
Because we manufacture in-house, product ownership also covers the technical side: specifications, print files and production readiness, supported in the day to day by our Product Specialist.
What you will own
→The full lifecycle of your portfolio: opportunity, business case, development, launch, optimisation, phase-out.
→The commercial definition of your products: target audience, channel, positioning, naming, price structure, USP.
→The margin. You build the business case, defend it, and act when the numbers move.
→How your products are presented, configured and merchandised in the shops, together with UX and Design, measured on product page and conversion performance.
→Delivery of your roadmap tracks against agreed dates, and keeping your own status transparent without being chased.
→New product introduction and production transfers across our European and US sites: specification integrity, first article, go-live.
→Product requests from B2B and retail partners, with key account management and procurement.
→Direction and quality assurance for our Product Specialist within your portfolio.
What you bring
→Three to five years or more in product management, e-commerce, or running your own online business.
→Print-on-demand or personalised products experience is welcome, but it is not a requirement. Project management, structured thinking and clear communication matter more to us, and the industry can be learned on the job.
→Commercial fluency: you can build a business case, defend it, and revise it when reality disagrees with it.
→Comfort with product data and the systems it lives in: master data, PIM, ERP, production backends.
→Analytical hands: strong Excel, web analytics such as GA4, BI reporting.
→AI as part of how you actually work, with concrete examples you can talk through.
→Fluent English. German is a real advantage for working with our German production and retail partners, but it is not a requirement.
An alternative background we value
Experience building or running your own e-commerce business is highly relevant for this role. The commercial instinct that comes with it transfers well to how we work, and we encourage applications from that background.
Nice to have
→Experience leading a small team, formally or as a lead without formal authority.
→B2B customisation, private label or retail account background.
→Experience briefing and challenging UX and design work.
→Multi-brand or multi-shop portfolio experience.
→German, Latvian or Polish.
How we work
We work with a high degree of autonomy and short decision paths. The role carries clear ownership, and with it the expectation of setting priorities independently, communicating status proactively, and flagging risks early.
Given the breadth of the portfolio, structured prioritisation and clear communication with stakeholders across production, IT, marketing and sales are central to the role.
What success looks like
// 3 months
You know the product, system and production landscape, and your roadmap tracks have credible plans and dates.
// 6 months
Your portfolio runs independently, its margin and performance are transparent, and operational escalations upward have dropped.
// 12 months
You take and defend portfolio decisions on your own, and the presentation of your products in the shops has measurably improved.
Sounds like you?
→You have owned a product or category end to end and can point to the numbers you moved.
→You are comfortable holding the margin and defending a business case, not just running a roadmap.
→You already use AI in your day to day and can talk through concrete examples.
Probably not a fit if
→You want a single narrow category to go deep on. This portfolio is deliberately broad.
→You prefer executing a roadmap someone else owns to holding the margin yourself.
→You need long approval chains and heavy process. We work with short decision paths and high autonomy.
What we offer
A competitive salary and bonus, plus a benefits package that includes:
→International experience across our globally spread teams.
→Private health insurance with a compensation package after the probation period.
→Additional leave on special occasions.
→A variety of packed breakfast, lunch and snacks in the office.
→Valuable knowledge and excellent experience for your future development.
→Connection with your colleagues through team building and company events.
