Head of Accounting
The Customization Group
Head of Accounting (Riga)
Take operational ownership of accounting for a growing international group: single accounts under German GAAP, consolidated accounts under German GAAP and IFRS, and the consolidation across all entities. You lead an established team and work closely with the VP Finance.
● Riga, Latvia ● Full-time · Finance ● Hybrid · 4 days office
As Head of Accounting you take operational ownership of accounting for the group — final responsibility sits with the VP Finance, whom you work with closely.
You own the single accounts under German GAAP for the German entities and the consolidated accounts under German GAAP and IFRS. You run consolidation across the whole group and keep the books for the domestic (German) subsidiaries. For the foreign subsidiaries you act as a sparring partner and support to the local finance teams — their bookkeeping stays with them, the group-wide standards sit with you.

In a nutshell: Deliver the closes on time and clean, keep consolidation and the subsidiaries under control, and lead the team — close to the VP Finance, auditors, and tax advisors.

What you'll do
The work
Ordered by share of time, largest first.
→ Own the accounts. Single accounts under German GAAP for the German entities and the consolidated accounts under German GAAP and IFRS.
→ Consolidate & steer subsidiaries. Bookkeeping for the domestic (German) subsidiaries, plus consolidation and intercompany across the group; for the foreign subsidiaries, a sparring partner and support to the local teams, and the owner of group-wide standards.
→ Lead the team. Professional and disciplinary leadership and development of the accounting team.
→ Hit the deadlines. Reliable monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
→ Be the point of contact. First contact for auditors, tax advisors, banks, and authorities.
→ Improve the processes. Develop and automate accounting processes and systems.

→ At least 7 years' experience in accounting, including relevant leadership experience.
→ Proven experience in group consolidation.
→ Experience supporting multiple entities in a group context.

→ Experience with process automation in accounting.
Why this role, now
What you get to build — not what we demand.
Group

You're not inheriting chaos — a functioning team you develop and give clear standards to.
Leadership 9 locations
Is this you?
Sounds like you?
→ You deliver closes on time and clean, even when it gets tight.
→ IFRS in group reporting is familiar territory.
→ You lead a team without micromanaging.
→ You enjoy working closely with the VP Finance, auditors, and tax advisors.
Probably not a fit if…
→ you want final authority over the accounts rather than operational responsibility under a VP Finance.
→ you'd want to keep the foreign subsidiaries' books yourself — the local teams do that.
→ you're after a pure group-HQ role with no hands-on day-to-day.
→ working on systems and processes annoys you more than it appeals.
